Mario Trejo Varguez was born in 1977 in Merida, Mexico. Varguez studied at a number of public and private schools, including the Centre Culturel Wallis, the Centre des Beaux Arts and the art school at L'Atelier in Merida, Mexico. In 2001 he completed courses at the L'Academie San Carlos in Mexico City. His work is presented by prestigious galleries internationally.

Of his work, Varguez says, "It is colors and the effect of materials reacting to each other that stirs my passion and drives me to bring painting to larger dimensions."
