KRISTIAN
VERONO
For his
latest project entitled « MY VERONO » the multidisciplinary artist,
Kristian Verono is reviving the noble virtues of portraiture. Ascribing a new twist of vibrant dynamism,
his portraits are infused with a sensual physicality and passion. No more endless
hours of posing, instead, his subjects enjoy an exclusive portrait experience like
no other.
Portraiture may
have lost some of its noble value. Is it due to a lack of time, money or
interest by todays society? One can only guess what the motivation behind this
attitude might be.
Nevertheless,
being the contemporary artist of his time, Veronos artistic explorations of
figures and nudes led to creations that combined both painting and photography.
As a result, he created a unique
corporal experience, where the subject is the canvas for an abstract depiction.
His subjects stand naked, covered in white paint, and are placed up against a
white wall. Inspired by the mood of the
moment and his subject, Verono then throws colors at paint directly at the
figure.
The powers
of colors collide with the organic forms of the human figure. A mixture of
dynamic movement and inert are immortalized.
The act of creation is then captured through the lens of the camera
voilà, the contemporary figurative portrait.
